| Bamboo Orchestra's
workshops |
| |
A " natural, musical and magic"encounter with another human
being, created and proposed since 1995 by Makoto YABUKI, along with his
professionnal musicians.
This project is exclusively intented for children and teenagers, during and outside
term time. |
| |
| The Philosophy |
| |
- From a visit to the Anduze's bambouseraie, to reconnect his mind with
the natural original environment, human roots and origins.
|
| |
- To meet the BAMBOO ORCHESTRA's bamboo instrumentarium, the percussion
and the wind-instruments, traditional and brilliantly invented by Makoto
YABUKI. Thus, to take consciousness of the magic and power of bamboo
in the « world of sounds», a gigantic grass "half empty, half full",
as the cosmos in the traditional philosophical conception of the ZEN
school in Japan.
|
| |
- Around a musical event, children can take part in it, in a spirit of
discovery, curiosity and spontaneity; for them, it is a fantastic opportunity
to feel the magic and orchestral world of a live show.
|
| |
- In the oriental spirit, evolving in harmony and respect with the living
elements which surround the human being, to enter in the giant bamboo's
sound universe without borders, making your own musical instrument inspired
by the 5 continental traditional cultures.
|
| |
| The pedagogy |
| |
|
| |
- To assert yourself in a group and find your place by revealing your worth.
|
| |
- To open your own universe through the discovery of the nature's beneficial
virtues by the clear, melodious and exact or the dull, resonant and vibrant
sounds of bamboo. Bamboo is transformed into a musical object, awakening
the tribal essence and sacred meaning in every human being.
|
| |
- To enable to the imagination and the artistic, physical or creative expressive
qualities to take form, out of other subjects' traditional paths, for an
inner opening, gaining a personal success.
|
| |
- To create your own music and thus to explore your own personal creative
part with an instrument.
|
| |
- To discover through music other cultures, unknown sonorous spaces, beyond
borders. To spread and enlarge your universe.
|
| |
|
| |
- To open yourself to the world of another human being by listening to
him playing his music.
|
| |
- To meet another human being in a suggested "zen" atmosphere
(in a sitting posture on the floor, "with concentration and discipline",
a proof of inner calm and respect of natural laws).
|
| |
- To accept the universe of another human being in coherence with your
own one, and to make a common creation.
|
| |
- To concentrate while playing in harmony with your orchestra.
|
| |

| Objectives |
| |
| Music is a an excellent pedagogic, therapeutic and social resource: |
| |
- musical vibrations awake the creative and inexplored inner universe
of the child who has the chance to express himself musically and physically,
sometimes internalized or even bloqued.
|
| |
- It enables breath 's learning and control for wind-instruments , and
playing percussion is very physical especially bamboo percussion.
|
| |
- to find your right place in a band, to know and make the others know
your inner worth according to your role in the "musical tribe".
|
| |
- the child learns to share with the other children of his band thanks
to privileged moments of creation
