The International Committee of the Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean, formed an association in July 2001. This association brings together most cities (institutions or associations) that participate at the event.
It will permit to develop actions between biennials : exchanges, residences, workshops, exhibitions and will ensure to follow the project through.

The matter is to create a logo for the association, which you’ll find a description enclosed.
The Biennial gather in a city of the countries around the Mediterranean 600 to 1000 artists under 30 years old, who present their work in professional conditions during 10 days. Athens, Greece, in 2003 will be the 11th edition of this event. The disciplines represented are the following: architecture, visual arts, graphic arts, fashion design, craft and industrial design, cinema/video, literature/ poetry, music, theatre, gastronomy.

CONDITIONS FOR THE CONTEST
• to be a young creator of less than 30 years old, on the 15th of
November 2002.
• to live and/or work in one of Mediterranean Countries.
• to send your application form before the 15th of November 2002.
• to accept to assign the rights to the association for the use of the logo.

PRICE
The winner will be invited on the next Biennial, which will be held in Athens in 2003 and will receive 2000 €.

SPECIFICATIONS
The logo will have to be simple, dynamic, to evoke the energy characteristic of young creation, the Mediterranean, the link north/south, the round up of cities, Europe.
It will have to be available in 3 versions: four-colours printing, two colours printing, black and white.
Entitled : International Association for the Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean.
Variations : Paper head, envelops, stickers, signature for promotion documents (posters, catalogues, visiting cards, front page for a web site.
Presentation of the work : models on format A4 maximum, logos, variations and application (on catalogues, invitation cards,…)

USE OF THE LOGO
International use on all kind of medium for an indefinite time: catalogs, posters, brochures, Internet, TV, -products, press.

SELECTION

An expert’s committee will do the first selection, and in a second time the board members will meet with the President of the association, at the latest the 31st of December 2002, to choose the final logo.
