The association Libre d'images is a production company, managed by the film director Bania Medjbar.
Bania Medjbar is from Marseille and was born in 1962. She worked as an assistant for Claire Simon, Brigitte Roüan, Christophe Ruggia, Abbas Kiarostami and Merzak Allouache.
In 1996, she began directing at documentary school making the documentary films: Impression de voyage [Impression of a journey], Mères amères [Bitter mothers], Le marché aux puces [The flea market] and J'ai fait un rêve [I had a dream].
In 2003, she took the plunge into fiction with Quand le vent tisse les fleurs [When the wind weaves the flowers] , a short film which was selected at the Quinzaine des réalisateurs in Cannes. This short film received eight prizes in various festivals.âÂÂÂ¨Her latest short film Des enfants dans les arbres [The children in the trees] did the rounds on the international festival circuit and was awarded 7 prizes before being broadcast on Canal+.
